PROFESSIONAL CV WRITER (EXPERIENCED)

What You’ll Do

  • Create top-tier, bespoke, targeted, professionally written CVs, cover letters and optimise LinkedIn profiles. 
     

  • Hold initial strategy consultation phone calls with clients where you will discuss what the client is aiming to achieve from the service, then discuss their career history, paying extra attention to their skills, experience and achievements. Please do not apply if you are uncomfortable with this aspect of our service. This is a key requirement of a premium CV service and we do not employ CV writers who can't complete client consultation calls.

  • Work to a 3 business day turnaround with each client and provide document revisions where requested.
     

  • Research the clients targeted positions ensuring the documents you create are optimised and targeted towards those positions.
     

  • Work with clients of various career levels and professions. Although if you have a particular space you specialise in, we're more than happy to accommodate only that type of project.

Your Characteristics

  • Expertise in creating CVs and cover letters offering career guidance and advice. This expertise can be obtained through various professional experiences. Therefore, the writers need to be familiar with the most effective techniques for CV writing and what hiring managers seek in order to produce client documents that stand out and increase interview opportunities.
     

  • Flexibility and responsibility are key qualities for this role. Writers have the autonomy to choose assignments based on their interests and expertise and are expected to deliver high-quality results that are tailored to the client's career field and requirements.
     

  • CV People offers comprehensive guidelines and resources that have been proven to be effective in the industry. At the same time, the company allows for considerable flexibility to encourage CV writers to find the approach that suits their writing style, schedule, and other factors.

  • Skills in establishing and maintaining relationships with clients through phone and online chat communication is crucial. Given that most interactions with the company will be conducted through online chat, writers must possess excellent communication abilities to establish trust with clients, making them feel confident in the process, the quality of work, and the achievement of their career objectives. Maintaining consistent communication and follow-up is also essential to ensuring client satisfaction, in addition to delivering quality work.
     

  • Proficiency in remote work and adapting to new software tools. Our internal systems (Outlook, Slack, and custom CRM) are seamlessly integrated to streamline the order process from beginning to end. Writers must have the ability to navigate between these programs in order to succeed in this role.

The Requirements

  • Expertise in the fields of written and verbal communication, managing time efficiently, and computer proficiency.
     

  • At least 1 year of experience in CV writing OR a minimum of 3 years of combined experience in professional writing, human resources (hiring), career consulting, or talent acquisition and recruitment.
     

  • Familiarity with contemporary CV formats, the functioning of Application Tracking Systems (ATS), and the most effective techniques for crafting high-quality CVs that are tailored to each client's industry or career field.
     

  • Capacity to produce excellent results while operating with a high level of independence, adaptability, and responsibility.
