​CV & RESUME - IS THERE A DIFFERENCE?
In the US and Canada a resume is the standard for job applications. This is usually a 1 page career overview document. In the UK and Europe, a CV is the standard for job applications, and typically goes in to more detail than a North American resume. In New Zealand a CV is more inline with the UK and European standard, usually spanning 2 pages and possibly beyond dependant on your experience.

HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE?
Our pricing depends on a few factors. Firstly, we have four different career levels to choose from and the price depends on where you fit on this scale. The difference in our pricing generally reflects how much time we need to assign your writer to work on your CV project. A graduate CV generally takes a lot less time than an executive CV, and our pricing structure reflects this.

WHAT HAPPENS ONCE I'VE PLACED MY ORDER?
​You will receive an automatic order confirmation email (check your spam if you haven't received it). Your order confirmation email contains your unique order reference number and a link to our online portal where you can upload your existing documents or information. Here is a short video explaining how to register and upload your old CV. Once we have received this, we will assign your project to the most suitable CV writer in our business by 5pm the following business day.
DO YOU OFFER DISCOUNTS?
From time to time we will run promotions on our CV package services giving you the opportunity to receive even better value from us. If we are running any promotions these will be displayed on our services page here. Our website prices are final. We do not negotiate on the prices advertised online.

​IS MY ONLINE PAYMENT SECURE?
Yes! Our website uses SSL meaning your connection to our site and all information uploaded is secure. We also run McAfee Website Protection on our site to protect your information even further. We use Stripe to process our payments which means we don't see your card details. Your payment is processed directly through Stipes' encrypted server giving you the protection of the world's largest payment merchant. ​​

Working With Us

HOW QUICKLY WILL I GET MY NEW DOCUMENTS?
Once you have registered on our platform and activated your project our management team will assign your project by 5pm the following business day. Your assigned writer will then request a time for your consultation call, or carry this out via the online chat in our platform if you aren't available for a phone call. Once your consultation has taken place and your CV writer has all the information they need, you can expect your CV first drafts within 2 business days. 

Please note: we are a professional career consulting company (not self employed freelancers) and our office is closed on weekends. While some of our CV writers do choose to work overtime from home on weekends, Saturday and Sunday do not constitute 'business days' within our company and our offices are closed.
WHO WILL BE WORKING ON MY CV? DO I SPEAK TO THEM?
Of course. We have a team of over 50 professional CV writers who specialise in writing CVs for approximately 40 different career fields, most of whom are from the recruitment industry. For any individual projects, we assign the CV to a writer in the same field. All our CV writers are NZ based and are contactable Monday - Friday.
WHERE WILL MY CV WRITER BE BASED? DO I NEED TO MEET THEM IN PERSON?
Our CV writers are based throughout New Zealand, some work within our offices in Auckland and some work remotely from home. Because we assign your project to the most suitable CV writer in our business they may not be based in your local office. However, our CV consultations are completed on the phone or through our online chat to speed up the CV writing process and reduce costs.
​HOW CAN I COMMUNICATE WITH MY CV WRITER?
Once your project is assigned to your CV writer you can contact them directly through the chat function in your account or by phone. We avoid using emails as they can sometimes end up in spam and important messages can be missed.
HOW LONG DOES THE FULL PROCESS TAKE TO COMPLETE?​
This varies from client to client. We work on your documents until you are 100% happy. We provide the CV first draft within 2 business days of your consultation and any requested revisions within 1 business day. Projects usually require revisions as no one knows your own experience as well as you, please bear this in mind when engaging our services. We recommend starting the process at least 10 business days before application deadlines to ensure your documents align perfectly with your own skills and experience and are tailored toward the position you are applying for.
DO YOU WRITE CVS FOR PEOPLE OUTSIDE OF NEW ZEALAND?
Yes we do. CV People New Zealand is part of the GWI Group, a worldwide company with regional offices in America, Canada, the UK and Australia. If you are based in one of these countries we recommend ordering directly from that office, links to which can be found at the bottom of this page. If you are moving to New Zealand or not based in one of these countries we would be happy to complete your project from our Auckland head office.
CAN I ASK FOR REVISIONS? HOW LONG DO THEY TAKE?
​Yes! We are here to ensure that your professionally written CV meets all your expectations and requirements. If you feel that there is something lacking in your new CV, you can send it for an unlimited number of revisions. For further information regarding the service, please take a look at our Guarantee Page. Your CV writer will deliver requested revisions by close of business, the following business day providing they have had the opportunity to clarify any extra information with you. ​
CAN I HAVE MULTIPLE DESIGNS/VERSIONS OF MY CV?
If you require multiple designs of your CV, this will incur our CV redesign fee of $59 for each version which can be purchased here. If you wish to change the written content of your new CV for different applications you will be required to purchase additional time for your writer at $59 p/h which can be done here. 
WILL I BE ABLE TO EDIT MY DOCUMENTS IN THE FUTURE?
Absolutely! We understand more than anyone the importance of keeping your CV up-to-date while also adjusting it to particular vacancies. After you confirm your acceptance of the order, we deliver the final documents in PDF and Microsoft Word 2016 formats which you can edit anytime.
WHAT WILL MY CV LOOK LIKE?
We have 24 designs that you are able to choose from which can be found here. When engaging our services you will have the option to select a preferred style/design for your new CV. If your assigned CV writer advises against your selected design and doesn't believe it is suitable for your profession/industry they will let you know during your consultation call where you can agree on another design. Please note we do not work from templates, your CV will be designed around the written content of your professionally written CV. ​​
​IS THERE A TIME LIMIT WHEN WORKING WITH YOU?
There is no time limit and we will keep working on your documents until you are 100% happy. However, to maintain and manage our writers workload, we do ask you to close your project out once you are satisfied with your documents. If we do not hear from you within 14 days after submitting your new documents our platform will automatically close your project due to inactivity.

DOES THE CV PEOPLE GIVE ANY GUARANTEES?
We guarantee that you will be invited to more interviews within 90 days of delivery of your final CV. If you don't, your CV writer will rewrite your career documents again and complete any necessary changes free of charge. We are always here for you; our customer service is what sets us apart from everyone else. We also guarantee to deliver the first draft of your professional CV within 2 business days of your initial consultation. The fastest in the industry!
ONCE I'VE PLACED MY ORDER CAN I REQUEST A REFUND?
This depends.
Our writers are paid on a project by project basis and a considerable amount of time and effort goes in to critiquing, researching, drafting and writing your new documents. It's this time that you are paying for, along with the finished product. Once your order is placed and your information uploaded, your project will be assigned to a CV writer to start work on the following business day, with first drafts returned to you a day after that. Here is our refund policy:
  • If you wish to cancel your order before your project has been assigned to a CV writer we will issue you a full refund.
  • If you wish to cancel your order whilst it is being drafted please contact your CV writer as soon as possible. They will inform you how many hours they have worked on your project thus far and we will charge you for work already complete at a rate of $59 p/h.
  • If you wish to cancel your order after you have been sent first drafts of your documents we will not issue a refund unless we are in breach of our own terms and conditions which can be found here. We will however work on your project until you are 100% happy.
Our CV writers are professional career writers, most coming from the recruitment industry and they will complete your documents using current standards and keywords to increase your chance of being selected for an interview. Please understand CV writing is a complete bespoke and personal service, your own personal preference might differ from industry standards our CV writers are trained to. However, if you aren't happy after multiple drafts of your documents, please contact the office directly, our management team will review the documents created by your CV writer, and reassign your project to another writer if deemed necessary. ​
WHAT IF IM NOT HAPPY WITH MY CV?
Your CV writer will keep working on your professional CV until you are 100% happy. Sometimes this will require you to list out edits in an email or over the phone, our CV writers will create your documents based on current standards to give you the best chance of securing an interview, if this isn't what you want you will need to explain in detail to your writer how you want the CV written. If, after multiple drafts you still aren't happy with the CV, please contact the office and we will assign your project to another CV writer free of charge.
WHY SHOULD I AVOID CHEAP $100 CVS? WHY ARE SOME COMPANIES CHARGING $3,000+?
As with anything in life, you get what you pay for. Unfortunately the CV writing industry is largely unregulated. This means anyone can claim to be a professional, and with the use of a self made website offer their services to write your CV with no prior experience in your sector, with professional writing or even recruiting. If you are looking for a fast, budget service, this might be an option for you. However, if you are looking for a professionally written CV that puts you ahead of the competition we would advise you to stay clear of these low cost CV writers. A professional CV and cover letter will take around 8 hours to write and design professionally (see our CV writing process here), so the question to ask yourself is: which expert in their field is completing 8 hours work for $100 or less? That's actually less than the legal minimum wage! On the other hand, there are CV companies charging in excess of $3,000 for a CV and cover letter, representing an hourly rate in excess of $300 per hour, we believe this is completely unjustified and indeed excessive! The CV People seek a charge rate of around $59 per hour, which positions us competitively in the market, while ensuring we can afford to employ the industry's top talent to work on your documents.
