Our CV Writing Journey
The CV People was incorporated in 2011 by Joan Jack and Ian Jenkins, two senior headhunters receiving applications for medical positions from qualified overseas applicants. English often wouldn't be the applicants first language, which meant the CVs received would be poorly written and formatted. They would get immediately rejected when sent to potential employers, frustrating for both the candidate, Joan and Ian. Through this process the CV People was born and began to offer candidates a professional CV writing service, improving their CVs to required standards, which has today evolved into one of the largest CV writing services in the world, centrally based from our Auckland office with regional hubs in Christchurch and Wellington.
Fast forward seven years, the CV People team has grown to more than 50 professional CV writers across eighteen offices worldwide with personal experience in more than 40 industries. The CV People help to create compelling and eye-catching CVs, cover letters, and LinkedIn profiles for clients across New Zealand. Our writers have expertise in a variety of different sectors (details can be found in our FAQ's) and our management team always match our clients with a writer specialising in their particular industry.

Originally from the UK, Ian has in excess of 15 years recruitment experience working for some the worlds largest recruitment firms. Ian co-founded The CV People in 2011.

James comes from a recruitment background having headhunted thousands of staff throughout his career. James now heads up our operations and joined the CV People Board as MD in 2018.
